Long time no write... [Oct. 18th, 2005|12:55 am]
[mood |contentcontent]

What can I say? I've been a little busy, and I'm not going to lie, the first thing that goes when I get busy is updating my journal.

So school's going by pretty quickly this semester. I love my apartment and my roomies, and I get upset when I think about leaving them next semester. Between football and connect with tech, I've virtually had no weekends to just do nothing this semester, so fall break has been wonderful in that respect. I really needed the chance to do nothing for a couple of days. Overall though, I'd have to say that this year is much, much more fun than my freshman year, and I couldn't be happier about the way that things have turned out.

I leave for Disney in 80 something days, and saying I'm very excited is a huge understatement. I'm very much looking forward to going down there, working hard, networking, and showing Disney that there is absolutely no reason for them to not want to hire me when I graduate. We'll see how it goes, but I'm very optimistic, lol. I'm going to miss everyone at school, but I'm definitely not going to miss school itself. I'm also willing to be everyone's personal travel agent, so please let me know when you're coming to visit! I love planning! Erin's vacation prep is well underway (although technically she's done all that on her own, lol, way to go sister...look forward to seeing you in March)!.

In other news, oh wait, there really isn't any other news because my life is consumed by school. See, you're really lucky that I don't ever update because all I do is go to class, do homework, get no sleep, and start all over the next day. It's pretty sad when you don't update your journal for months and you can sum everything up in two very small paragraphs. Georgia Tech, look at what you've done to my life.

Erin is coming to Tech on homecoming weekend, and I am excited. I miss her.

Now I am going to go spend one last night in my bed before it's back to Tech...boo work!

You are reading the journal entry of a golfing pro. I schooled everyone tonight.

In conclusion, bowling sucks, and we should golf all the time.

So I went back to see when the last time I had a real update was, and when I realized it was before finals week I decided that I should probably fill people in a little on my life.

This summer's been nice. I enjoy the fact that I get to sleep pretty much whenever I want to, and I feel like I've had a nice balance of work, friends, and doing nothing, lol.

Disney in May was tons of fun, and now the big Disney countdown has started for January 9th. After Disney I started working at Limited Too, and that's been a good experience, so really no complaints there. Jennifer came to visit for a weekend!! I miss her! Ashley (Erin's roomie) left a week ago, and that was fun too. I've been to the Stone Mountain laser show twice in a week and a half, and both were fun in their own unique ways, lol. Erin, Kelly, and I want to rent Ice Princess this week and then go ice skating, so we'll see what happens with that plan, haha. I leave for Hilton Head on Saturday, and I don't think I could be more excited about that...woohoo beach! And then I guess it'll be time to get all of my stuff down to school.

Last night I took pity on myself and dropped a class that took me from 17 hours to 13. In exchange, I signed up for an eight o'clock calculus class five days a week instead of a three o'clock class. I was a little worried about the whole eight o'clock class for another semester, but then I discovered that Jennifer and I are in the class together!!! That makes me so happy, lol.

I'm going to go eat some breakfast and figure out what to do today since work doesn't need me for my oncall. Let me know if you want to do anything this week before I leave for the beach!! Yay beach!!

I'm sick of people acting like they're 12 when they should be acting like they're 19, and I'm sick of people acting like they're 25 when they should be acting 19. But most of all, I'm sick of not know how a 19 year old is supposed to act.

And I have a feeling that's why I can't sleep tonight...

So I just finished my last class of my freshman year; it's so hard to accept that the end is already here. It feels like Aug. 12th was yesterday. I can still remember the moment my parents left me in the dorm, and I still remember what a pain unpacking was, and then there was the task of trying to get out beds lofted...

I took down all of my posters yesterday, and I packed up a lot of pictures and unnecessary stuff. My walls look so empty!! I can't believe everything I've done this year, and while I'm very relieved to see the end of classes, I am really going to miss my freshman year. When I graduated last year, I had no clue what college would be like, and I was scared. How was I going to live without Erin, and how was I going to to stay in touch with everyone? Well kids, it's all about the mobile-to-mobile minutes and reunion trips to Disney World. This year has taught me that I'm not as shy as I believed, and that if I really want something, nothing can stand in my way. I've learned that I am capable of handeling extremely stressful situations (even if I don't do it in the most graceful way sometimes). I can stay true to everything that I believe in and not be affected by peer pressure. I can make it through a day with virtually no sleep if there are white chocolate mochas and coke with lime. I can live in a room smaller than a closet and share a bathroom with thirty-something girls. I can plan some really badass vacations. I can live off of fruit loops, mini pizzas, and cheese-it twists. I can give presentations in front of large groups of people and not feel like I'm going to pass out. I can pretty much fill you in on every series currently running on mtv. I can help people with physics and find help for computer science. I can make my bed six feet off of the ground. I can get free lunch at Moes. I can ride marta. I can do my own laundry (least favorite activity ever). I can do so much...

I'm very excited about summer and a much needed break. I think if I see any more calculus or or CS I am going to scream. Tonight is Six Flags and then the studying marathon begins. Saturday is Physics day, Sunday is CS day, and Monday is calculus night. Doesn't that sound like the best time ever? I think not. This time next week, I will be going to pick up sister from uga, and then it's the preparation for DT2K5!

I guess I should go finished for move out phase II...good luck on finals everyone!!
